Community Projects

We believe that it is important to understand the background of a project or building, such as its heritage and local value, in order to inform our design proposals. By engaging stakeholder groups we can better understand the aspirational and technical briefing requirements on a project. We take a collaborative approach to design, and in Sheffield and London have led community-based workshops and consultation events.

Our work on Barnsley Civic has involved meeting with stakeholders to understand the different briefing requirements of multiple groups. The building has a lot of untapped potential and a passionate management team with an achievable plan to expand the excellent arts programme and create an even greater cultural and civic asset for Barnsley. We worked carefully to combine the heritage value and technical requirements of the project with these aspirations.
